Also known as:
Wild Pansy
Uses:
• Eczema
• Non-specific skin conditions
• Acne
• Dermatitis
Description:
This is a plant that is familiar to many people. Not many know, however, that
herbalists have for many years taken advantage of its specific action on the
skin to help with eczema and other skin rashes.
How it works:
Viola contains saponins. These soap-like molecules are able to soothe inflamed
areas of skin. Viola also contains high levels of flavonoids which have the
ability to stabilise capillary membranes. This is an important consideration
in inflammatory conditions of the skin.
Improving the condition of the capillaries aids the supply of nutrients to
the skin and the removal of waste products from the skin. This combination
of effects improves the condition of the skin.
Additional advice:
No restrictions to use are known.
