Description:
Spilanthes originates from South America and grows in wet, damp places in temperate climates. It is a member of the Asteraceae family and has been traditionally used for the external treatment of fungal skin infections.

How it works:
Research has confirmed the antifungal activity of Spilanthes, especially against the Trichophyton species of fungi responsible for athlete’s foot infections.

Its precise mechansim of action has not yet been elucidated.

Additional advice:
It is always best to treat fungal infections both topically and internally as the herb will be delivered to the site in the bloodstream.
